Policy choices over the last decade have led to record levels of rough sleeping in Nottingham, a leading charity claims.

Jeanette Sheldon, Jersey Water's Head of Water Quality said: "We share the public's concerns about PFAS, and in particular the impact on those islanders whose privateby airport firefighting foam."In the last five years, we have increased our PFAS testing by 75% and commissioned 16,656 tests in 2024 alone, demonstrating our commitment to understanding and managing these chemicals.
"Currently, PFAS levels in the island's drinking water are equivalent to approximately one-and-a-half teaspoons of sugar in 100 Olympic-sized swimming pools, which is well below the regulatory standards adopted for Jersey."Public health officials say seawater quality at Grève de Lecq has improved enough to allow ocean swimming - although concerns remained over the water quality of the local stream.
It is believed a blockage at a sewage pump meant an overflow was washed into the sea, leading to high levels of E. coli bacteria earlier in May.
Engineers fixed the problem and the seawater is now rated as excellent, with swimmers now able to enter the sea.Her ex-partner Zac Pennell was convicted of both coercive control and intentional strangulation in January, with a sentence of 21 months.
