“It needs untangling – they’re not all professional rough sleepers,” Mr Downie says.

Five people were rescued when the single decker crashed off the bridge on Barnard’s Road in Grosmont, near Whitby, at about 13:40 BST on Saturday.Police said the driver and passengers escaped serious injury after the bus fell about 30ft (9m) and was left suspended over a shallow river.
