The Emotions’ “Best of My Love” is playing — something that told Redd the production value was top notch.Daytime isn’t usually Redd’s favorite genre even though she acknowledges “it’s paid the bills for many decades.” “Beyond the Gates,” though, has earned a spot in Redd’s TV time.

“They got me hooked,” she says.
