Nab Lane household waste recycling centre (HWRC) in Birstall shut on 10 November, as part of a plan by Kirklees Council to save nearly £200,000.
One Labour MP from Gwynne's constituency area told the BBC the comments were "extraordinary".He said: "I know Andrew quite well. I'm surprised he would say these things, that any Labour MP would say those things."
Gwynne was first elected as a Labour MP in 2005, representing the Denton and Reddish constituency. Labour's Ged Cooney quit Tameside Council with "immediate effect" after four of his senior councillors stood down from their executive posts on Thursday.
In a letter, Cooney said it was "evident" that he no longer had the support to make the improvements in children's services which were required.He said a lack of industry and employment opportunities were the biggest factors behind young people moving away from rural communities.
He said he did not think Article 4 would mean more affordable homes."It won't make a difference, there’s nearly 80 unsold properties under £200,000 within a 10-mile radius of Abersoch at the moment on Rightmove.
"The frustration is that nobody has a right to buy where they were born – that's something we see all over the country."For example, if you were born in Mayfair, it doesn't mean you have a right to buy a home in Mayfair, and doesn't necessarily mean you should change policies and peoples' right and freedoms to sell on an open market."
