Mr Justice Poole said: "He seeks to control others to prove that he is right, to secure recognition, to get his own way and to serve his own ends."
Adil Iqbal, 27, was among a gang who pursued 26-year-old Bashir Mohamed in a car and on foot before he was attacked in Shyltons Croft, Ladywood, in April 2021, West Midlands Police said.Iqbal fled the country shortly after the killing but was detained on his return to the UK in November, the force added.
The 27-year-old from Aston, pleaded guilty in April and was sentenced at Birmingham Crown Court on Wednesday.The attack followed a dispute between rival groups in Sparkbrook, where a shotgun was fired at a house and the front door set alight, police said.Three other men, Mohib Tasharat, Kasim Ifzaal and Ibrahim Raza, were
after admitting manslaughter.They were sentenced to 11, 10 and six-and-a-half years in jail respectively.
However, West Midlands Police has said, despite the four convictions, they still believe others were involved.
