Electric Light Orchestra (ELO) keyboardist Richard Tandy is to have a scholarship named after him at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire (RBC).A donation by his wife Sheila earlier this year established the scholarship which will support first-year undergraduates studying keyboard, piano or guitar.Tandy was born in Birmingham and officially joined ELO after the release of the group's first album in 1972. He died at the age of 76 in April 2024.
