Hancock was sentenced to 31 months in prison when he appeared at Leicester Crown Court on Wednesday having previously admitted a charge of stalking involving fear of violence or serious alarm or distress.The 25-year-old was also given a 10-year restraining order banning him from contact with the woman.

The force said Hancock had displayed threatening and controlling behaviour towards the woman, demanding to know where she was and who she was with.

Detectives said she reported him to police in October 2023 but he still continued to send her messages and set up fake social media profiles to stalk her.It says its projects across the region have already served more than 12,400 meals this year, and saved more than 37 tonnes of food from being thrown away.
